An Alaskan Seafood Lunch at Nobu

On Wednesday 15th May, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) held a special lunch at Nobu to celebrate wild and sustainable Alaska Seafood with Michael Cerne, the newly-appointed Executive Director of ASMI.

The event was a great success with a wide range of attendees, including food writers from Bella Magazine, Foodiepedia, Waitrose, and Good Housekeeping and industry professionals from Westminster Kingsway College, Harrods and Fishmongers Company.


Guests enjoyed a bespoke lunch featuring Alaska Seafood, specially developed by Nobu's accomplished chefs. The menu included:

  • Wild Alaska Sockeye Salmon new Style Sahimi

  • Wild Alaska King Salmon Sashimi Salad with Jalapeno Dressing

  • Wild Alaska King Crab Tempura Ama Ponzu

  • Steamed Wild Alaska Pacific Cod with Tosazu Butter

  • Wild Alaska Black Cod with Black Pepper and Balsamic Sauce

The event was a great opportunity to highlight the exceptional quality and versatility of Alaska seafood in cooking and guests were updated on the latest developments in ASMI's Responsible Fisheries Management programme.


Alaska is famous around the world for its wild and sustainable seafood. In fact, sustainability is so important to the State of Alaska it was written into the State Constitution in 1959, mandating that the fish…be utilised, developed and maintained on the sustained yield principles. The State's long-term involvement has ensured continuous, wild and healthy harvests for Alaskans and consumers around the world.
